The incumbent club president is Marot Fernandez.

This Quota club has produced three (3) District Officers to date namely, District Governor Susan Miranda, District Governor Marilou del Rosario and District Secretary/Treasurer Buchay Africa.

Since our charter, Quota International of Manila South has embarked on several community projects benefiting the hearing impaired and disadvantaged women and children.

The following are some of our current projects:

1. Disadvantaged Women and Children Category.

Quota International of Manila South Ambulatory Room, Cancer Institute in PGH

The club remodeled a spare room at said center, turned it into an Ambulatory Room, complete with air-conditioners, lazy boy recliners, 2 TVs, 2 VHS machines and tapes.

The room is for the use of young cancer patients whose expensive medical treatments of chemotherapy and radiation are shouldered by the club. The patients and their families are given support for transportation, nutritional needs, and supplementary medications.

Lualhati ng Maynila

Indigents, lost, clueless, wandering elderly men and women picked up by DSWD are brought to this facility in Marikina where they are housed, fed and cared for. Some are lolos and lolas left in the center by their own families who do not want to care for them anymore.

* Manila South Quotarians visit them, bearing gifts and food. They dance and sing with them, showering attention which they are so hungry for.

* The facility's clinic was upgraded (remodeled, painted and equipped with new cabinets), providing more storage and medical supplies.

Livelihood Program

A Livelihood Program was given to the mothers of the children with cancer in cooperation with HBC, in order to teach them basic skills in foot spa, hair cut and color, make-up, as well as massage in order for them to be able to make a living while caring for their sick children at home.

Medical Missions

* A Medical, Dental and Surgical Mission was undertaken in Barangay Sampaloc in Paranaque City wherein 500 indigents were given the care they desperately needed, complete with free medicines.

* A Medical, Dental and Surgical Mission was undertaken in 3 Barangays fronting the railroad tracks in cooperation with the Daughters of Charity Sisters in Posadas, Sucat.

Outreach Programs

Several Outreach Programs have been undertaken by the club, from spreading Christmas joys to street children, hearing impaired students and cancer patients, to feeding programs of malnourished children in depressed barangays and legal advocacy to battered women and children.

2. Service to the Hearing Impaired Category.

Joseph Gualandi School for the Hearing Impaired

The creation of a library containing specialized books on Hearing and Speech located at the Joseph Gualandi School for the Deaf in BF Homes, Paranaque. Students, parents, doctors, caregivers of the deaf can go to the center if they wish to research and arm themselves with knowledge on Deafness.

Quotarians from Quota Clubs abroad partner with us in the project, dubbed Club-to-Club, by sending funds earmarked specifically for this project in line with Quota International's global network of people who care about others.

Philippine School for the Deaf, Harrison Street, Pasay City

* The Philippine School for the Deaf's graduating students batch 2007-2008 were recipients of free tuition, allowances, and miscellaneous expenses paid for by the members of QI Manila South.

* The multi-handicapped children of the Philippine School for Deaf, ages 3-6, are recipients of daily feeding and vitamin therapy, free transportation expenses and free tuition provided by the club through the auspices of Quotarians worldwide through the Club to Club Project, as well as the donation of a brand new Riso/mimeographing machine to replace an antique one circa 1950s .

Audiometric Testing

Audiometric Testing was done at The Don Bosco Youth Center to screen them for problem on hearing.

Deaf Awareness Week Celebration (DAW)

This is an annual weeklong celebration held every November wherein Quota International of Manila South participates in an activity within the week, once as lead Quota Club for the other Quota Clubs in Metro Manila as lead organization for the opening day of DAW.

3. Fundraising Projects (We will never be able to accomplish all of the above without funds.)

A "Quota" Evening - Fund Raising Concert

The club sponsored the Angfourgettables, a group of singers and comedians (Pinky Marquez, George Javier, Isay Alvarez and Bimbo Cerrudo at the William Shaw Pavilion of the Wack Wack Golf & Country Club for a night of song, fun and dance.

4. Fun & Fellowship

Team Building Session

On the fun side, the club held a Team Building Session in the forest of Mount Makiling last 2005.

This included games that led to several breakthroughs like self discovery, working as a group was enhanced, fears were conquered, and bonding with other members regardless of age difference and backgrounds.

Food trips, Games, Christmas and Halloween Parties

Food trips, games, Christmas and Halloween parties, and dancing of course are part of the fun side of this club. In particular, the practices in preparation for the Fellowship Night Competition held during District Conferences are looked to with anticipation, a chance to showcase nimble dancing feet to surpass 12 other Quota clubs nationwide, having bagged 2 Champion awards and was the 1st runner up this year.

****

In a nutshell, this is what Quota is all about and what we do as members of Quota International of Manila South. It's all about SHARING - sharing one's self, one's time, one's energy, one's creativity, one's talents, one's treasures

We can not emphasize enough that there are many others who are in need in our community. We also do not deny the fact, that we can only do so much. However, the spirit of sharing is what drives us to do even more - to go out on a limb to reach the greater majority where government's social services are wanting.

We continue to extend the invitation to women to join to make a tremendous contribution in our community. By being one of us and by letting Quota be the avenue, through which they can assist our beneficiaries in realizing their dreams by sharing their blessings to those who have none.
